About Me

Hi! I’m Amanda Spars. I’m an aspiring video editor born and raised in Iowa. I also happen to be born with a musculoskeletal disorder called Chondrodysplasia Punctata. I may be physically disabled, but that did not stop me from going to college and getting a Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism & Mass Communications and a Certificate in Writing.

This is just a video of me briefly explaining my disability.

I also found a medical page explaining just what Chondrodysplasia Punctata is: https://medlineplus.gov/genetics/condition/x-linked-chondrodysplasia-punctata-2/

I’ve always been a creative person, especially when it comes to storytelling, and people have always told me that I have the voice for it.

TV shows like My Babysitter’s a Vampire and Doctor Who got me into creative writing. What ultimately inspired me to create and edit videos of my own, was being on my high school’s news team and watching YouTubers like Dan & Phil, WatchMojo, Good Mythical Morning, and many others.

I have two YouTube channels, and their videos range from disability-related vlogs to reviews and top 10 lists to journalism packages.

The main thing I want to prove with my work — no matter the format — is that while my disability may make my life a bit more challenging, it does not and will not define me.
